Ross Youngblood 25/8/2002 |
Congratulations Colin & Nadine!
I´ve been away from the KR-net community for a while,
and here I see that a KR is going round the world!
I knew it wasn´t a crazy idea! Where have I been
the last year?
You probably will not visit Oregon in your travels
but if you plan on going to Arizona, look up the
folks in the Valley Flying Club at Deer Valley
Airport (DVT). http://www.valleyflyingclub.com
Tell Bob Mayer that Ross´ told you that you could
possibly help out if you need anything in the area.
(I don´t know if it will help, but it might).

Ross |

Well done you 2! I get terrified going to the Isle of Wight so I can only admire your guts and tenacity. Just read Sam Cody´s biog about his round UK race in 1909 in the "Cody Cathedral" and I reckon your trip must be on a par! I have your name and phone number in my KR construction book dated Dec 1990 so I must have rated you as a "likely lad" even then! All the best Mac |

Tony & Kate 25/8/2002 |

Hi Colin and Nadine, Congratulations and Well Done! Your patience and determination has paid off, at last.
All those nights working in the cold hanger just a distant memory hey! We´ve been following your erratic progress on the web which sounds exciting if very exasperating. We wish you both the very best luck with your continued travels & happy landings.

WAY TO GO GUYS !!!
It was SUCH a thrill just to meet up with you in the air above Lake MacQuarie in our Rebel & escort you into Sydney with Jon Johanson & Sue Ball in the RV 4 alongside :-)
It´s people like you who are inspiration to the rest of us !
I remember that my dad used to say to me, ... there are 3 kinds of people in the world -
1) Those who MAKE things happen
2) Those who watch things happen
3) Those who wonder what happened
and by far, MOST of the population are in categories 2 & 3 .... but obviously NOT you two !!! |

I will see if there is anyone that may have a life-raft that you require. Sounds like your trip has been very interesting so far. Has the Jabiru engine performed as well as you hoped? Certainly is a great test for it, tho most comments seem to reflect those of Zamzilan.
Good luck and hope to see you in Oz |

Mark Jones 16/7/2002 |
Hello Nadine and Colin. I am very impressed with what you are doing and extremely excited this is being done in a KR-2 aircraft. I am a builder of the KR-2S model and have a web site at http://mywebpage.netscape.com/n886mj/homepage.html
As the word of your venture spreads through the KR family, I am sure you will be the highlight of many conversations. We will all be following your progress as your around the world trip continues and wish you all the best of luck. Sure wish you guys were going to be at EAA Airventure 2002 in Oshkosh for the KR 30th year Anniversary Dinner and Forum. Please keep us up to date on your progress. |

zamzilan 12/7/2002 |
Understand both of you at Bali now!!Wondering when will you reach your destination.Main problem are birocracy and next are weather plus JABIRU. I´ve experience one broken exhaust valve(forced landed), four badly pitted exhaust valve seat, two exhaust valve stuck, two slight bent intake valve, one burnt cylinder head due to gas leak, one burnt cylinder barrel at top due to gas leak, one crack cylinder head between exhaust and inlet port, one oil sump with pin hole due to improper manufacturing and more which is quite lengthy to eleborate. Hope that your engine treats you well. Keep on going, I´ll be tracking you on web site, not GPS!!! I´ll prefer to use zamzilan@yahoo.com |
